Darren Gordon Smith is an award winning screenwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist whose work includes REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA (named one of Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 25 Cult Movies of All Time), and the sci-fi, rock ‘n roll, rom-com, THE SECOND AGE OF AQUARIUS. Darren has been privileged to work with such notable artists as Sarah Brightman (Phantom of the Opera), Anthony Stewart Head (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Patrick Swayze (Dirty Dancing), Alexa Pena Vega (Hairspray), Paris Hilton (The Simple Life), Yoshiki (X-Japan), Ogre (Skinny Puppy), Sonny Moore aka Skrillex, Sophie B. Hawkins, Richard Fortas (Guns n’ Roses), Ray Luzier (Korn), Neel Hammond (Sonus Quartet) and Stephen Perkins (Janes Addiction). He earned his music degree from New York University, after studying ethnomusicology at Wesleyan University. Darren then worked as a musician in New York City and in Boston, while studying South Indian vocal music, and taking banjo lessons from Peter Tork of The Monkees.
